Outdoors Ohio host, D'Arcy Egan, respected journalist and outdoors radio personality, decided in late winter of 2006 to dive into the medium of television to get his message out.
D'Arcy's message is the promotion of responsible stewardship of our resources and having an absolutely great time enjoying the outdoors.
After walking that Plain Dealer beat for more than 30 years, D'Arcy has great connections with tons of fascinating people all over Ohio. Folks who want to share their fishing and hunting venues and secrets for everyone to experience,
Outdoors Ohio filled the niche in Ohio TV programming that outdoors-minded people needed and wanted. By the fall of 2007, more than 40 shows aired on Sports Time Ohio, the fledgling Cleveland Indians network.
D'Arcy's wife, Laura Brown Egan, former Lake Erie fishing guide and artist, was a co-host during those first two years - as seen in this screen shot from a Lake Erie smallmouth bass episode featuring her brother, Captain Bob Brown.

2008, young Joe Thomas, offensive lineman for the Cleveland Browns, joins the show.
D'Arcy got a call from STO asking if he would mind having a co-host for 2008. Hey sure! It was the kid who skipped the NFL draft to go fishing with his dad!
D'Arcy took him under his wing and got a kick out of teaching the kid from Wisconson about the best stuff we have to offer.
"He's a quick study and fun to have along," exclaimed D'Arcy, "besides, he can carry the canoe!"
Joe and D'Arcy had a ball some really wonderful Outdoors Ohio adventures.
One of many highlights, (at left), the guys show off a 49" Muskie they targeted, (and released), on West Branch Reservoir, Ravenna, Ohio.
The best offensive lineman in Cleveland Browns fans' memory proved to be an icon for the next generation of mid-western hunters and fishermen. What a nice young guy!
We'll bring you great new shows featuring celebrity guests, famous fishermen, everyday people with something to say about Ohio's great outdoors opportunities.
In 5 seasons Outdoors Ohio has featured all of these subjects, sometimes just touching on them, usually giving an in depth look.
